' Z1 INC <br /> Task 2 5 Stockpiling of Contaminated Soil <br /> ' The hydrocarbon contaminated soil that is removed from the subsurface will beP laced on <br /> ' a soil remediation pad that will be located on the Hi Hopes property approximately 100 feet <br /> south of the proposed excavation (Exhibit 4) The soil remediation pad will consist of 6 mil <br /> ' thick visqueen plastic sheeting with a 4 to 6 inch thick base of clean sand placed on top of <br /> it The pad will likely be 40 feet by 100 feet in size A berm approximately 6 to 12 inches <br /> ' in height will be placed around the pad to prevent unauthorized storm water runoff The <br /> hydrocarbon contaminated soil will be placed on the remediation pad in lifts approximately <br /> ' 6 inches thick and covered daily to prevent unauthorized volatile organic compound <br /> emissions release <br /> It is estimated that approximately 1,500 cubic yards or more of hydrocarbon contaminated <br /> ' soil will be initially placed on the remediation pad The hydrocarbon contaminated soil <br /> placed on the remediation pad will be sampled for baseline hydrocarbon contamination <br /> concentrations at the rate of one sample for every 150 cubic yards of soil and analyzed for <br /> total petroleum hydrocarbon as gasoline fuel using USEPA Test Method 8015 (modified) <br /> ' and for BTEX using USEPA Test Method 8020 if deemed necessary by PHSEHD, two of <br /> the soil samples will be analyzed for soluble or leachable lead content <br /> ' The soil samples will be transported under chain of custody documentation and analyzed <br /> by a California licensed analytical laboratory After receipt of soil sample analytical results <br /> ' a determination will be made as to the rate and volume of uncontrolled emissions from <br /> aeration of the hydrocarbon contaminated soil on the remediation pad that will be allowed <br /> from the San Joaquin Valley Unified Aar Pollution Control District (Air District) Remedial <br /> action will be conducted in compliance with Air District 4651 and/or other applicable <br /> ' regulations for volatile organic compound emissions for decontamination of soil A plan <br /> of soil remediation will be submitted to PHSEHD and the Air District Rule for approval <br /> 1 <br /> • <br /> 08220010 005 11 <br />
