9 <br /> OLNE CO. <br /> March 28, 2008 <br /> San Joaquin County <br /> Public Works Department <br /> 1810 East Hazelton Ave <br /> Stockton, CA 95205 <br /> To Whom It May Concern: <br /> Musco Family Olive Co. has is submitting this application for an encroachment permit for the <br /> purpose of installing up to four, 2-inch diameter, groundwater monitoring well on the western <br /> shoulder of Hansen Road in Tracy, CA. Project details are below: <br /> Location <br /> The groundwater monitoring wells are proposed to be installed in two locations on the <br /> western shoulder. The southern location (WC-1 S and WC-1 D)will have an approximate 4- <br /> foot setback from asphalt of Hansen Road, the northern location (WC-2S and WC-2D)will be <br /> drilled in the asphalt on the shoulder of the road. Each location is proposed to have two <br /> groundwater monitoring wells, one"deep' (anticipated less than 300-foot depth), and one <br /> "shallow" (anticipated depth 80-foot depth). Hansen Road terminates approximately 20-feet <br /> south of one of the proposed southern location and transitions into dirt driveways leading to <br /> private residences. The second location is located approximately 3,000-feet north of the <br /> southern terminus of Hansen Road, also to be installed in the western shoulder. Please see <br /> the Site Map taken from the San Joaquin County Community Development GIS database <br /> and the detailed drawings made from field surveys of the Site. <br /> Work to be Performed <br /> Installation of the groundwater monitoring wells is not anticipated to take longer than one <br /> week total, depending on subsurface drilling conditions. A truck mounted hollow stem auger <br /> wilr advance the boring and Musca personnel will be onsite the entire time of drilling, <br /> completion, and development. After approval of the encroachment permit by SJ County and <br /> approval of the work plan by the Regional Water Quality Control Board, an application for a <br /> well permit will be submitted to San Joaquin County EHD, <br /> Traffic Control Plan <br /> It is anticipated that traffic will not be substantially disrupted by the drilling activities, <br /> especially in the souther location, since this is near the southern terminus of Hansen road. <br /> Musco will use the traffic control elements found in the California.MUTCD; Sections 6C.04- <br /> 6C.07, and:hire a qualified traffic controlcompany(for example, Flash Safety) to ensure that <br /> all elements of the MUTCD are properly organized and,executed` Ttaffic diversion is not <br /> anticipated to be required. Advance warning will be provided by means of,a sign placed <br /> approximately 100-feet north of the drilling location. In the Activity Area, cones will separate <br /> the drill rig and other work equipment from the traffic area.
