Messrs. Hall and Musco - 2 - • 18 December 2002
monitoring procedures. Turbidity and phosphate, listed on the table, shall remain in the monitoring
plan and require additional description as described above.
• As an alternative to field instruments,Musco Family Olive Company may elect to analyze samples
on a short laboratory turnaround time.
• If field instruments are selected for wastewater characterization, then add collection of duplicate
samples to be analyzed by a California licensed laboratory on a maximum 24-hour turnaround (with
the exception of biochemical oxygen demand which shall be on a five day turnaround). If the
laboratory analyses confirm the field measurements, the discharge may continue; however, if the
results contradict the field measurements, then the discharge shall be halted immediately and tests
repeated if bypass is desired.
• All field measurements that indicate bypass of the stormwater is acceptable shall be submitted to the
Regional Board by facsimile on the same day as collection of the data and all laboratory results shall
similarly be immediately submitted by facsimile. Please update the report to include the reporting
requirements.
• This stormwater bypass monitoring is in addition to the Stormwater Monitoring required by
Monitoring and Reporting Program No. R5-2002-0148. As required by the Standard Provisions, all
monitoring performed in addition to that required by the MRP must be submitted in the next
regularly scheduled monitoring event.
By 17 January 2003, please submit an amended report addressing the above items. Until the report is
approved by the Executive Officer,Musco must continue to collect all its stormwater. If you have any
questions regarding this report review, please telephone me at(916) 255-3116.
TIMOTHY R.
