• tnnedy/Jenks Consultants
' Section 7: Proposed Monitoring and Reporting Program
' Irrigation with reclaimed water of higher quality than the underlying groundwater at the two
offsite properties requires substantially less monitoring than that for a land application treatment
system. The proposed monitoring for the onsite process wastewater generation, storage and
management is included in Section 10 of the ROWD. The proposed treatment system has
established monitoring for the quality of the effluent and operational parameters such as flow,
pressure, temperature, pH and suspended solids levels in the membrane bioreactor, and
' temperature, pH, and conductivity of the RO permeate.
Monitoring the reclaimed water sent to the offsite properties will be conducted through the
sampling program outlined in Section 10 of the ROWD, with the addition of monitoring the BOD
concentrations after the polishing step, if one is incorporated downstream of the reservoir.
According to the 26 May 2004 letter from the RWQCB, regulation for reclaimed water treated to
' levels rendered suitable for full beneficial use would include monitoring of the hydraulic flow,
nutrient loading, crop type(s), and planting schedule. Musco's reclaimed water will be treated to
levels equivalent to or better than conventional secondary treatment and therefore this type of a
monitoring program should apply for the reclamation program.
1
Proposed monitoring for the reclamation properties includes annual groundwater monitoring,
' accomplished using the existing monitoring wells associated with each property, to evaluate
changes in quality or trends. Annual soil monitoring for normal agricultural parameters, including
general soil chemistry, is also proposed for the offsite properties. The soil monitoring program
' will be designed to evaluate the soil fertility for continued agricultural use and the need for
adjustment or addition of soil amendments. Soil parameters monitored will include such items
as acidity, general minerals inorganic constituents, total nitrogen and nitrate.
1
Reclamation Report, Page 20
' Musco Family Olive Company
gtisgragViMen$o6'A2a2g1g4.muscoAveV19-reoonsVeclamaGon VlVnu-co rKIMSlon reW W98./26C.
