The work plan
stated that the area of vadose zone available for the soil vapor extraction(SVE) system has
decreased. The work plan proposed installing two ground water extraction wells and conducting an
8-hour step draw down test and a 24-hour constant rate pump test to evaluate the feasibility of 1)
direct removal of dissolved contamination mass, and 2) depressing the ground water table to increase
the vadose zone. The work plan proposed that by increasing the vadose zone the SVE would be
enhanced.
