Invitation For Bid: Hartmann and Setness •
Site Addresses:
Former Chase Chevrolet Facilities(separate Sites):
423 N.Madison 424 N. Van Buren
Stockton, California Stockton,California
Page 7
Work anticipated for accomplishment at this locality includes the following:
1. a central CPT penetration to 25 feet BGS with undisturbed soil samples
collected every five feet beginning at 10 feet BGS to 30 feet BGS
(estimate 5 samples in your bid). Should groundwater be encountered
before the 30' BGS level, then samples will only be collected to the 25'
BGS depth,
2.• three similar soil sampling penetrations will also be accomplished at
approximately 15 foot distances from the tank cavity center to the north,
south and west of the former tank location (see Figure 3 for proposed
locations),
3. Samples will be analyzed according to the protocols established in the
"Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendations for Preliminary Evaluation
and Investigation of Underground Tank Sites" (October, 1990 and August,
1991) for waste oil tanks. Specifically this includes CAM 5 metals (Cr,
• Ni, Pb, Ni and Zn) as TTLC, TPHg, TPHd, TPHmo, BTXE by USEPA
Method 8020 (or its equivalent), Oil and Grease by Standard Method
5520, USEPA Methods 8240 (or 8260) and 8270 on every sample,
4. a "grab" groundwater sample will be collected from the vicinity of Tank
No. 1. This sample will be collected from a CPT penetration advanced to
at least 10 feet below first encountered groundwater as estimated from soil
moisture encountered in the 25' or 30' soil samples, and at a minimum no
less than 40' BGS. This sample is intended for collection using evacuated
VOA vials (BAT"' sampling system or its functional equivalent) for VOC
analyses, pumping into liter sized amber glass jars for non-volatile organic
analyses as well as plastic bottles for metals analyses. The same suite of
analyses as that described above is required for the "grab" groundwater
sample, with the appropriate substitution of extraction and analysis
methods suitable to groundwater matrix.
•
