Invitation For Bid: Hartmann and'.ietness •
Site Addresses:
Former Chase Chevrolet Facilities(separate Sites):
423 N. Madison 424 N. Van Buren
Stockton, California Stockton,California
Page 8
B. TANK NUMBER 2
Tank No. 2 was located ERER MWl
W
immediately east of the 4Y ® ®
Repair Building. This tank 2 ® ® [\
was reported to have
contained waste oil from the
repair shop. When removed,
Falcon Energy reported the 8 q
tank to be in "poor"
condition with "holes" and DRIVEWAY
considerable corrosion. The x
short Resna tank removal COVERED PARKING
report expanded on this by x x x x
describing "numerous holes" Figure 3. Proposed CPT Soil and Groundwater Sampling
associated with this tank. Locations, Tank Nos. 1,Z and 8
. The sampling plan will be the same for as that described for Tank No. I above with the
exception that the three peripheral holes will be arranged to be north, south and east of
the former tank cavity (see Figure 2 for proposed locations). As with Tank No. 1, a single
groundwater "grab" sample must be obtained from this locality, preferably in the central
former tank cavity area or to the north of said cavity.
Samples will be analyzed according to the protocols established in the "Tri-Regional
Board Staff Recommendations for Preliminary Evaluation and Investigation of
Underground Tank Sites" (October, 1990 and August, 1991) for waste oil tanks.
Specifically this includes CAM 5 metals (Cr, Ni, Pb, Ni and Zn) as TTLC, TPHg, TPHd,
TPHmo, BTXE by USEPA Method 8020 (or its equivalent), Oil and Grease by Standard
Method 5520, USEPA Methods 8240 (or 8260) and 8270 on every sample.
C. TANK NUMBER 8
Tank No. 8 was located adjacent to the southern wall of the repair shop building on the
Madison Street Property. It's approximate position has been shown on Figure 1.
Tank No. 8 was reportedly used to contain TCA solvent. Some discrepancy also exists
with respect to the actual size of this tank. Reported sizes range from 1,000 to 4,000
gallons capacity. Falcon Energy, the tank removal contractor, reported the condition of
the tank as "poor" and with holes. The short Resna tank removal report lists a 1" hole on
• the bottom seam of the tank. Tank invert sample results are not presently available.
