excavation area. The benzene concentration in the excavation groundwater sample was 10 times
lower than in borings 16B-6 and 1613-8. Based on previous groundwater sampling results, it is
estimated that the contaminated groundwater was removed from up to 25 feet away from the
excavation.
The ORO that was added to the excavation will continue to enhance biodegradation of the
residual petroleum hydrocarbons at the Site. We recommend that additional groundwater
characterization and monitoring be conducted at the Site after site redevelopment is completed to
evaluate whether additional groundwater remediation is required.
6.0 LIMITATIONS
Activities undertaken as part of this remediation work was conducted on behalf of the City of
Stockton to assess the presence of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater in the
vicinity of the former UST location.
