SOIL AND GROUNDWATER INVESTIGATION RESULTS <br /> AND REMEDIATION WORKPLAN <br /> CHASE WEST, AREA 16 <br /> 424 NORTH VAN BUREN STREET <br /> Stockton, California <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This report and workplan present the results of the soil and groundwater investigation and <br /> recently conducted at the Chase West Site (Area 16)at 424 North Van Buren Street (Figures 1 <br /> &2). The City of Stockton (City) owns the Site, and Treadwell &Rollo was retained by the <br /> City to conduct a soil and groundwater investigation. <br /> The objectives of this investigation were to conduct a field investigation to help delineate the <br /> source and extent of residual contamination around the former UST location area, and gather <br /> data to determine an appropriate remediation method for the Site. Treadwell&Rollo prepared a <br /> 23 December 2003 soil and groundwater investigation workplan for the Site describing this <br /> investigation (Treadwell&Rollo 2003a), which was approved on 12 January 2004 by the <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(SJCEHD 2003a). <br /> This report presents the following: <br /> 1. Our findings regarding previous site uses and investigations. <br /> 2. Sampling and laboratory analytical methods used during our subsurface investigations. <br /> 3. Results of the subsurface investigation. <br /> 4. A workplan for remedial work. <br /> 2.0 SITE DESCRIPTION AND BACKGROUND <br /> The Site is part of the Banner Island Redevelopment Project, which includes the area north of the <br /> Stockton Channel bounded by North Lincoln Street to the west, West Fremont Street to the north <br /> and Commerce Street to the east.
