1 <br /> Quarterly Report - First Quarter 2001 <br />' Former CHASE CHEVROLET (Van Buren) Facility <br /> 424 North Van Buren Street, Stockton, California <br />' 1,0 IINTRODUCTION <br />' At the request of 14Ir Jeffery B Setness, attorney for the property owners, Advanced <br /> GeoErivironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this quarterly report summanzing field activities <br /> performed during the first quarter of 2001 at 424 North Van Buren Street (the site), Stockton, <br />' California (Figure 1) The scope of work performed on the site during the quarter included <br /> monitoring concentrations of dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons in ground water on the site, <br /> operation and monitoring of the soil vapor extraction(SVE),installation of ground water monitoring <br />' wells and ground water extraction wells and preparation of this report Structures and monitoring <br /> well locations on the site and adjacent area are illustrated in Figure 2 Background information was <br /> summarized in Corrective Action Plan -December 1996, dated 27 December 1995 and in Quarterly <br />' Report- May 1999, dated 30 July 1999, both prepared by AGE <br /> 2 0. PROCEDURES <br /> Field activities were performed in accordance with guidelines established by the Regional Water <br />� . Quality Control Board - Central Valley Region (RWQCB) and by the San Joaqum County Public <br /> Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) for the investigation of underground <br /> storage tank (UST) sites and sampling of ground water monitoring wells Field procedures for the <br /> Imonitoring of the remediation system and performance of ground water monitoring and sampling <br /> are described below <br /> 2 1 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES <br />' On 28 February 2001, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in <br /> nixie monitoring wells on the subject site and In fifteen monitoring wells at the Madison site relative <br /> I to the tops of the well casings Depth to water was not measured in the five vapor extraction well, <br /> stored vehicles at the site blocked access to the wells The ground water elevations (Table 1) and <br /> hydraulic gradient (Figure 3) were determined from these data <br /> IAfter measurement of depths to water, each monitoring well at the site was purged using a two-stage <br /> submersible purge pump The pump was decontaminated prior to purging each well using an <br /> Alconox solution and clean tap water Temperature, pH and conductivity of the purged water were <br /> measured at regular intervals during purging using a Hydac water analyzer Approximately ten to <br /> fourteen gallons of water were removed from each well except for MW-9, from which fifty-four <br /> I gallons of water were purged (approximately three casing-water volumes) All purged water was <br /> stored in 55-gallon DOT-approved drums on-site Field data and field logs are included in <br /> Appendix A <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
