. 30 May 2001 <br /> I AGE-NC Project No 95-0143 <br /> Page 2 of 8 <br /> 2 2 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> Water samples were collected from each purged well using new, disposable bailers and upon <br /> retrieval, were transferred into 40-m1 EPA-approved VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18%hydrochloric <br /> acid as a sample preservative The samples were labeled and transported under chain-of-custody in <br /> a chilled container, to McCampbell Analytical, Inc (MAI), a DHS-certified laboratory, and were <br /> Ianalyzed for <br /> I • Total petroleum hydrocarbons qualified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA <br /> Methods 5030/8015m, <br /> • Volatile aromatic hydrocarbons - benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) <br />' and methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) in accordance with EPA Method 8020/602 <br /> 23 SVE/IAS UNITS OPERATION AND MONITORING <br />' The blower continued to operate to remove residual contaminant vapor through 27 February 2001, <br /> at which time it was shut down with FHS-EHD approval <br />' A soil vapor sample was collected from the influent line on 15 February 2001(Table 5) The sample <br /> was collected into a Tedlar bag and transported in a chilled container under cham-of custody to MAI <br /> and was analyzed for TPH-g, BTEX and MTBE in accordance with EPA Methods 8015m and 8020 <br />' by MAI <br /> The depth to ground water and dissolved oxygen concentrations in ground water were measured on <br />' 16 January and 15 February 2001 Ground water elevation data are summarized on Table 1 <br /> Dissolved oxygen data are summarized on Table 4 <br />' 2 4 DRILLING AND SAMPLING <br />' On 15 and 16 Mai ch 2001, five soil borings (MW-22, MW-23, MW-24, EW-3 and EW-4) were <br /> advanced at the site using a CME 75 HT drill rig equipped with 8 25-inch diameter hollow-stern <br /> augers(MW-22,MW-23 and MW-24)and 10-inch diameter hollow-stem augers(EW-3 and EW-4) <br />' The drill rig and three-man crew were supplied by Mitchell Drilling Environmental of Rancho <br /> Cordova Augei returns generated by drilling were stored on-site in 55-gallon steel drums, pending <br /> laboratory analysis <br />' from samples borings s were collected ahead of the drill bit using a California modified split- <br /> . p g <br /> 1 <br /> Advanced GeoEnvkronmentai,Inc <br /> 1 <br />
