Trinitas Farming, LLC
7835 S. Inland Dr.
Stockton, CA
Hazardous Waste Management Plan
of oil filters (i.e. disposal in trashcans or in a landfill)will result in fines and penalties. Additional
information on the managing of used waste oil filters can be found in Appendix G.
5.2.1 Accumulation and Storage Requirements
All used oil filters generated from truck maintenance must be stored in appropriate
containers and stored no longer than the maximum accumulation time.
Containers:
Prior to storage, used oil filters must be properly drained of all free flowing motor
oil into an appropriate storage container(i.e. waste oil container). Containers used
for storage of waste oil filters must be in good condition and maintain adequate
structural support. Trinitas will utilize portable 55 gallon steel drums that will be
in the shop storage area(Figure 5). The steel drums will have tight fitting lids that
are kept closed at all times, except when used oil filters are being added or removed.
Monthly inspections will be performed, as discussed in Section 8, to ensure
damaged or faulty containers are not in use.
Accumulation:
Containers must be labeled with a Drained Used Oil Filters label that has clearly
marked the name and address of the generator(i.e. Trinitas Farming,LLC), and the
initial date of accumulation. If an accumulation label is used that has multiple
spaces for the start dates of accumulation, then the corresponding removal date
must be marked on the label. Up to one ton of total used oil filters can be stored
for at the facility for a maximum of 365 days from the initial accumulation date.
5.2.2 Transportation and Disposal Requirements
Transportation and disposal of all used oil filters can be conducted by facility personnel or
a hired transporter. A registered hazardous waste transporter is not required for used oil
filters. Furthermore,a hazardous waste manifest that must be sent to DTSC is not required;
however, if using a hired transporter, a bill of lading documenting the pickup of a specified
quantity is required, and a copy must be maintained by the facility for a minimum of three
(3) years.
26
