aqua i
scet&i.e
■ ,engineers Inc.
July 7, 1998
Mr. James Tong
Charter Properties
6601 Owens Drive, Suite 100
Pleasanton, CA 94588
SUBJECT: ASE PROPOSAL #98-141R
SOIL ASSESSMENT
7750 Schulte Road
Tracy, California
Dear Mr. Tong:
Aqua Science Engineers (ASE) has received a response from the San
Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division
(SJCPHS-EHD) to ASE's June 17, 1998 workplan for a subsurface soil
assessment at the above-referenced site. The SJCPHS-EHD response (which
is attached) requires additional work which is beyond the scope of work
outlined in ASE's proposal 98-1,41. The changes in the scope of work a n d
associated costs for the additional scope of work are presented below.
1 ) Groundwater sampling is required which will require use of a drill
rig such as a Geoprobe. It will not be possible to drill this boring
with a hand auger which was to be used with our original scope of
work. The use of a Geoprobe will require an additional $600.00.
2) The SJCPHS-EHD is requiring two samples (one soil and one water) to
be analyzed for methanol and ethanol by modified EPA Method
8015. The cost for these additional analyses are $375.00 on a two
week turnaround time basis.
3) The SJCPHS-EHD is requiring soil samples be analyzed every 5-feet
from 8-feet below ground surface (bgs) until groundwater is .
encountered. They are also requiring a groundwater sample. The
analyses in each of these "sets" of analyses will include total
petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-G) by modified EPA
Method 5030/8015, total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPH-D)
by modified EPA Method 3510/8015, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene
2411 Old Crow Canyon Rood, Suite 4, Son Ramon, CA 94583 • 925-820-9391 • Fox 925-837-4853
