Department of Public Works (responses: 8-6-92 and 8-26-92): See 'Conditions of Approval.' Environmental Health Division (response: 8-13-92): See 'Conditions of Approval.' Building Inspection Division (response: 7-10-92): See 'Conditions of Approval.' California State Department of Transportation - Division of Aeronautics (response: 7-27-92): 'Because of the close proximity of the project site to the Lodi Airport,the environmental document should consider airport-related noise and safety impacts on the project and the project's potential impact on airport operations. Consideration given to the issue of compatible land uses in the vicinity of an airport should help to relieve future conflict between airports and their surroundings.' The Lodi Airport is located approximately 3/, of a mile north of this site, on the other side of the freeway. As this project is an industrial use and does not involve public gatherings, or exceptionally tall objects, no land use compatibility issues or conflicts have been identified. The Initial Study prepared for this item did not identify any conflict with the Lodi Airport. (See response for 'Council of Governments.') San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District (response: 8-6-92): The District sent a letter recommending the following: 'In the interest of air quality, the District recommends that the applicant initiate and maintain a policy regarding the excessive idling of trucks that would have a duration of stay of longer than five (5) minutes.' The letter has been forwarded to the applicant. County Sheriff (response: 8-11-92): The letter stated that this project would have a minimal impact on current law enforcement procedures and recommended crime prevention concepts. Those concepts have been passed on to the applicant. Council of Governments (ALUC) (response: 8-31-92): This site is located approximately one mile southeast of the Lodi Linds Airport. The Airport Land Use Plan requires that no bird hazards be created at this site. The Airport Land Use Commission is requesting that a noise-making 'clacker' system or protective netting be used to discourage birds from landing on the storm drainage pond.
