h KLEINFELDER
File No.: 20-3121-02
November 2, 1988
Page 4
loose. The soils encountered in the borings drilled in the orchard below the building
pad were generally medium dense. The sandy soils extend to the maximum depths
explored in all borings.
Groundwater was not encountered in the test borings drilled for this investigation. It
is possible, however, that groundwater conditions at the site could change at some
time in the future due to variations in rainfall, groundwater withdrawal, construction
activities, or other factors not apparent at the time our test borings were drilled.
The above is a general summary of the soil and groundwater conditions encountered in
the test borings drilled for this investigation. A more detailed description of the soils
encountered in each boring are noted on the Logs of Borings. All soils have been
classified according to the Unified Soil Classification System described on Plate II.
LABORATORY TESTING
Laboratory tests were performed on selected samples obtained from the exploratory
borings in order to evaluate the moisture, density, and gradation characteristics of the
soils encountered. The tests included Moisture Content and Dry Density Determinations
and #200 Washes.
The results of the :Moisture Content and Dry Density Determinations are noted on the
Logs of Borings at the corresponding sample locations. The results of all the tests are
summarized on Plate X.
.a
r
r
i
