Environmental <br /> Our environmental resources include both the natural environment, <br /> such as rivers , wildlife, vegetation, air, mineral deposits, and <br /> those which have been influenced or created by man--the Delta and <br /> our agricultural lands . Without policies and programs for their <br /> protection they can be rapidly diminishing resources . We must <br /> manage and conserve our natural and man-made resources so as to <br /> assure their continued availability for the use, appreciation, <br /> enjoyment, and education of present and future generations . <br /> ■ Protecting agricultural land <br /> m need for water <br /> oThe Delta <br /> -To achieve a balance between resource conservation, urban <br /> development, and the judicious utilization of open space. <br /> -To maintain and enhance the continued prosperity and growth <br /> of the agricultural and agriculturally oriented segment of <br /> the County ' s economy. <br /> q&a�` <br /> -To minimize any adverse impact of development on the surrounding <br /> environment. <br /> -To increase public awareness of the importance and value of our <br /> environmental resources. <br /> r <br /> -To retain in open space those lands which serve valuable open <br /> space functions, and to encourage the multi-use of open space. <br /> 35 <br />
