As this project
develops, we would request, therefore, that the County ensure that the
plan incorporates school facilities financing, along with establishing
the placement of school sites as required by the development plan .
The preliminary document appears to indicate that it is the intent of
the developer to comply with this request, however , we would ask that
the District be invited to participate in the early stages of the
planning process, as it relates to both landuse and financing, so that
the requirements of the School District are met . We have found that
the District' s early participation in such planning is far more
effective in addressing the needs of the District in a constructive
manner .
Finally, we would note several minor technical corrections to be made
on page 3. 10 of the document :
- the project will not be served by the Tracy School District, which
is an elementary district, but rather by the Tracy Joint Union High
School District which serves grades 9-12 .
- student generation numbers for the Tracy area should read as
follows : K-5 .44 students/residential unit
6-8 . 2 It
11
9-12 . 3 if 'A
We look forward to working with the County and applicant on the plan
development relative to the school facility siting and financing
program.
