0 0 <br /> Disciplinary Policy/Action SAF 09-65 Handling Hazardous Materials <br /> Disciplinary Policy/Action <br /> Overview It is important to maintain a safe work and shopping environment for <br /> associates,customers,and vendors and to operate in an environmentally sound <br /> manner. Associates must follow the Company's environmental and safety <br /> standards to ensure the safety and well being of all associates,customers, and <br /> vendors. Every associate must take personal responsibility and ownership for <br /> safety. <br /> Environmental related work rule violations are subject to disciplinary action up <br /> to and including termination. <br /> See HR Code of Conduct for disciplinary action process. <br /> Major work rule A major work rule violation is a violation that is considered to be so severe in <br /> violation nature that a termination would normally result for a first offense. Major work <br /> rule violations could include,but are not limited to the following: <br /> ■ Disposing of hazardous materials or hazardous waste in the compactor (in <br /> Receiving), open top dumpster,or in any other inappropriate manner. <br /> ■ Failure to follow requirements for proper clean up,storage,labeling, or <br /> handling of hazardous materials and hazardous waste as defined in the HHM <br /> Program. <br /> ■ Failure to properly complete the HHM inspection process as defined in the <br /> HHM Program. <br /> ■ Failure to obtain appropriate shipping documents and placards (if required) <br /> when shipping hazardous materials. <br /> ■ Failure to remove all fuel and oil from powered equipment prior to shipping. <br /> Minor work rule A minor work rule violation is a violation that is considered to be unacceptable <br /> violation behavior in the workplace and would normally result in disciplinary action up <br /> to and including termination.
