Paint Department (D-24) SAF 09-65 Handling Hazardous Materials <br /> Emptying and To empty tint containers,Paint Associates must wear single-use gloves and: <br /> disposing of tint <br /> containers Step Action <br /> 1 Pour tint into the machine,let as much drip out as possible,and then use <br /> a spatula or similar device to remove what is left in the can into the tint <br /> machine. <br /> 2 If necessary,use a paper towel to wipe the tint container and lid dry so <br /> no drips of product are capable of leaking from the container.Dispose of <br /> the used paper towel in the red metal can. <br /> 3 Verify that the tint can is empty which means that there are no liquids or <br /> materials dripping from the can.To do this,hold the can upside down <br /> and make sure that nothing drips out. <br /> 4 After emptying the can,the associate may dispose of the can in the <br /> municipal(general) trash for disposal. <br /> 5 Dispose of any contaminated PPE(such as,single-use gloves)into the <br /> red metal can. <br /> Tint container Example of tint containers is shown below. <br /> example <br /> P <br /> a MM <br /> h <br /> Tint Screw Cap jug(Quart&1/2 Gallon) <br /> Paint found in Partial or full cans of paint that are discovered in the parking lot must be <br /> parking lot handled as waste.
