Tool Rental Center (D-78) SAF 09-65 Handling Hazardous Materials <br /> Laundered oily rags Oily rags generated in the TRC are periodically picked up by a vendor for <br /> laundering and are not hazardous waste. Only cloth rags may be used in the <br /> TRC;paper towels must not be used.To manage oily rags,TRC Associates must <br /> do the following: <br /> ■ Call a designated HHM associate to set up the red metal can in the TRC <br /> following 3E's instruction.The red metal can must be lined and labeled as <br /> "Launderable Rags Only." A"Hazardous Waste" label must not be used. <br /> ■ Place all used oily rags in the red metal can. <br /> ■ Close the red metal can after every use. <br /> Never place used oily rags in the municipal (general)trash.Oily rags can only <br /> be placed in red metal cans. No other wastes or materials can be placed in the <br /> red metal can.\ <br /> The rag laundering service is managed by the TRC Dept. <br /> Used oil and fuel In the event that the TRC receives from a customer or generates a used oil or fuel <br /> (gasoline or diesel) (gasoline or diesel)filter,do the following: <br /> filters <br /> ■ The used oil and/or fuel filters must be placed in a black waste bucket labeled <br /> as"Used Oil and Gasoline Filters" and the words"Hazardous Waste."
