0 0 <br /> TOOT Rental Center (D-78) SAF 09-65 Handling Hazardous Materials <br /> The wash sump Various cleaners are used in the wash area to clean and sanitize returned rental <br /> equipment prior to restocking.The wash area collects oils and particles prior to <br /> waste water discharge to the sanitary sewer. <br /> The TRC Department Manager or TRC Associates must maintain the wash <br /> sump as follows: <br /> ■ Maintain a sign in the wash sump that states"No Dumping of Hazardous <br /> Materials Down the Drain". <br /> ■ Under no circumstances can hazardous materials be dumped through this <br /> drain. <br /> ■ Contact the Store Manager or MOD in the event of any accidental discharges <br /> of hazardous materials to this drain. <br /> Our licensed waste hauler will periodically pump the wash sump out. <br /> Handling product All TRC Associates must be aware of and look for spills of the various products <br /> spills in the TRC being stored in the TRC. All equipment must be emptied of any hazardous <br /> materials and subsequently managed through the spill process. <br /> If TRC Associates observe spilled materials,they must immediately isolate the <br /> area and call a designated HHM associate who will handle the spill using the <br /> "Procedures for Spills or Unknown Materials" on page 44. <br /> Materials/supplies The materials and supplies required for this department are listed below: <br /> required ® yellow flammable cabinet marked with the words"Store Use Flammable <br /> Items Only" <br /> ■ 30-gallon steel drum for waste oil,marked with the words"Waste Oil Only" <br /> and a"Hazardous Waste" label <br /> ■ 25-gallon gas caddy,marked with the words"Waste Gas Only" and a <br /> "Hazardous Waste" label <br /> ■ Red metal can with flip-top,labeled with the words"Launderable Rags Only" <br /> ■ 5-gallon can liners <br /> ■ A Chemfree Smart Washer(parts washing) unit <br /> ■ Fluid extractor <br /> Revised: 12 January 2007 37 <br />
