State-by-State Instructions SAF 09-65 Handling Hazardous Materials <br /> Procedures for The Store Manager is responsible for representing the store during the course of <br /> agency inspections an agency inspection.The SSC is responsible for providing regulatory support <br /> to all The Home Depot stores. <br /> See Safety/L.P SOP SAI:'09-08 Regulatory and Government Agencies for more <br /> detailed procedures on how to handle all contacts from governmental agencies, <br /> including agency inspectors.The following is a summary of how to handle <br /> agency inspections. <br /> Step IAction <br /> Associate <br /> 1 Greet the inspector. <br /> 2 Immediately contact the Store Manager or MOD and remain with the <br /> inspector until the manager arrives. <br /> Store Manager or MOD <br /> 3 Ask the inspector for their credentials (such as agency identification, <br /> business card,etc.). Always be courteous to and truthful with the <br /> inspector and always accompany the inspector. <br /> 4 Visually confirm their credentials and escort them to the store or facility <br /> management office using the most direct route <br /> 5 Inquire as to the nature of the inspection. If the inspection is a result of <br /> an associate complaint,request a copy of that complaint from the <br /> inspector. If the inspector refuses to provide a copy of the complaint <br /> letter,ensure you make accurate notes of the alleged issues. <br /> 6 Notify any contractors at the store of the presence of the inspector. <br /> 7 Call the 24-hour Emergency line at 1-877-436-DEPO(3376) and your <br /> DAPM to notify them that an inspector is in your store. Follow all <br /> DAPM instructions. <br /> 8 ■ If you receive any documents from a regulatory agency,immediately <br /> fax them to the SSC at 770-384-4142. <br /> ■ If the inspector leaves no documents,fax copy of the inspector's <br /> business card or credentials. <br /> State-by-State Instructions <br /> Overview There are certain requirements that apply when a state has more stringent or <br /> different requirements than the federal requirements.The state-specific <br /> requirements not already addressed in or covered by the procedures that apply <br /> to The Home Depot stores are summarized in the HHM Program Binder by <br /> individual state.
