0 HHM REFERENCE GUIDE • <br /> • The cabinet must be marked with the words"Store Use Flammable Items Only." (Item#SI.874) <br /> • Only flammable,store-use materials in approved,properly labeled containers must be stored in the cabinet. <br /> SATELLITESTORAGE — <br /> Outside Garden(D28) <br /> • Satellite Storage Area should be a Rubbermaid corner deck box(or similar item) <br /> • The box must be locked at all times. <br /> • The box must contain the Sweep Log Calendar, bag patches, 5-gallon bucket liners, lid opener, safety glasses/goggles, and <br /> single-use nitrile gloves. <br /> • Fertilizer aisle along with one bay(AKA"bay-a-day") must be swept daily, put in a lined red accumulation bucket, and recorded <br /> on the Sweep Log Calendar. In addition, fertilizer endcaps and Vigoro mulch bays must be swept daily (if applicable). All daily <br /> sweeping must be completed by the D28 opener by 10 AM. <br /> • A Designated HHM Associate must print an HHMA waste label to start a new r d�atipnn b cket efore any��is add d. <br /> • Must be labeled"Hazardous Waste"along with the accumulation start date. Q cl <br /> • Red fertilizer bucket must remain closed and stored inside the locked Satellite Storage Area. <br /> • Broken fertilizer bags may be patched and sold provided the product and warning labels are legible. If labels are not legible, the <br /> bag must be wasted out. A Designated HHM Associate must use HHMA system for clean up instructions and to generate a <br /> waste label. <br /> • Note:Broken fertilizer bags have different instructions in the State of NY;all broken bags of fertilizer must be processed through <br /> HHM for disposal bags cannot be patched and then merchandised. <br /> • Once red fertilizer bucket is full, the bucket should be taken to the Central Storage Area by a Designated HHM Associate. The <br /> liner should be removed, twisted closed, and placed in the 30-gallon fertilizer accumulation drum labeled"Fertilizer Sweepings <br /> Only." Remove the label from the red bucket,place it and any contaminated PPE in the same drum and close the drum tightly. <br /> Paint(D24) <br /> • All oil based paint contaminated rags, paper towels, and sticks must be disposed of in the Paint Department's red metal waste <br /> can.All latex paint debris can be disposed of in the municipal trash. <br /> • Note: Latex paint debris disposal instructions are different in the States of CA and TX; all latex and oil based paint <br /> contaminated rags paper towels and sticks must be disposed of in the Paint Dept.'s red metal waste can. <br /> • The can must remain closed and be labeled with a completed Hazardous waste label with "Empty Daily" in the accumulation <br /> start date section. Label only needs to be replaced when it is no longer legible <br /> • The waste must be emptied into a 30-gallon accumulation drum labeled"Oily Paint Rag Waste"each day by the RTV Associate or <br /> MOD as outlined in the HHM Checklist. <br /> Plumbing(D26) <br /> • Oily rags and debris generated from the pipe cutter/threader must be disposed of in the Plumbing Department's red metal waste <br /> can. <br /> • The can must remain closed and be labeled with a-completed Hazardous waste label with"Empty Daily" in the accumulation <br /> start date section. Label only needs to be replaced when it is no longer legible. <br /> • The waste must be emptied into its designated yellow accumulation bucket in the Central Storage Area each day by the RTV <br /> Associate or MOD as outlined in the HHM Checklist. <br /> Tool Rental Center(D78) <br /> • The waste gas caddy must be labeled "Waste Gas Only" and a waste label affixed to it. A Designated HHM Associate must <br /> obtain a waste label as soon as waste gas is placed in the caddy. <br /> • The used oil drum in the TRC must be sealed and labeled"Used Oil Only" and a HHMA label affixed to it. A Designated HHM <br /> Associate must obtain a HHMA label as soon as oil is placed in the drum. <br /> • A 5-gallon black accumulation bucket must be set up in the TRC to accumulate waste fuel/oil filters and ozzy filters from the <br /> ChemFree Parts Washer. The container will be taken from the TRC by the waste hauler during waste pick-up and a new <br /> container with waste label must be started by a Designated HHM Associate. If the bucket becomes full before pick up, move the <br /> full bucket to the Central Storage Area,enter on the HHM Inventory Log, and start new bucket in the TRC. <br /> • Oily rags must be placed in the same 5-gallon black accumulation bucket set up for the waste fuel/oil filters and ozzy filters in the <br /> TRC. <br /> WASTE HAULER PICK UPS <br /> • Once the waste hauler removes the waste from the store, a Designated HHM Associate must print the replacement <br /> accumulation labels. <br /> • If a 14-gallon poly drum, 30-gallon poly drum, or steel drum (TRCs) is taken by a waste hauler, the waste hauler will replace <br /> the drum. <br /> • Off Cycle Pick Up—A waste hauler can be scheduled to come for an additional pick up within 10 weekdays. <br /> • Emergency Response (ER)—A waste hauler can be scheduled to come for an additional pick up within 2.3 days. <br /> • If an additional pick up is needed,contact your DOM with the reason and the date of the next scheduled pick up. <br /> • All Off Cycle Pick Ups and ERs must be approved by the SSC. <br /> HAZARDOUS WASTE MANIFESTS <br /> • The RSS portal should be checked for postings of hazardous waste manifests for your store. Manifests should be available 30 <br /> days after a pick up. If it is not available after 45 days,contact your DOM. <br /> • The RTV Associate or MOD must print copies of the latest month's shipment(s) and place copies in the store's HHM records <br /> binder as outlined in the HHM Checklist. <br /> Home Depot USA, Inc. - Confidential& Proprietary Information Revised 9/22/2010 <br />
