1) Pipes and piping systems.
2) Hazardous waste. (Must be labeled in accordance with Resource Conservation
and Recovery Act of 1976 (PL 94-580)).
Receiving/Storing of Hazardous Materials
Supervisors are responsible for ensuring hazardous materials are correctly received
and stored. We will follow the following safe practices:
1) Ensure that a MSDS is received with the initial shipment of a hazardous material.
2) Present all MSDS received with the order to the Safety Team Leader.
3) Ensure labels are affixed to containers and prominently displayed at all times.
The label must be written in English.
4) Ensure that the label contains the same hazardous material identity (product or
trade name) as appears on the hazardous material "master list" and MSDS. If
not, notify the Safety Team Leader.
5) Ensure that containers without a MSDS or label are "quarantined" in a secure
area until one or both requirements are satisfied.
6) Store hazardous materials in designated locations.
7) Use prescribed personal protective equipment when handling hazardous
materials.
8) Ensure all damaged containers or spills are appropriately contained and cleaned
up by trained personnel.
Other safe practices will be added to the above as necessary for local conditions
and materials handled.
Outside Contractor Safet
All non -employees working at this facility are required to comply with the following
safety guidelines.
1) The Supervisor will require the Outside Contractor to sign and return the "safety
compliance" form.
2) The Supervisor will inform the Outside Contractor of all hazardous materials in
the area and any protective measures that must be met.
3) The Supervisor will make available to the Outside Contractor a copy of our
Hazardous Chemical Safety Program and the appropriate MSDS for the
hazardous materials to which he/she may be exposed.
4) The Supervisor will inform the Outside Contractor of the labeling system used in
our plant.
