Network
Environmental Systems, Inc. (NES) will be assisting SUSD in correcting these issues and
returning to compliance. Each of the four items identified on the NTC are addressed
below.
Item number 45: Contingency Plan. NES is working with SUSD to complete a
contingency plan to meet the requirements of CCR Title 22, section 66265.52. We
anticipate having this plan completed and a copy submitted to your agency within 30
days of the NTC.
Item number 49: Personnel training. NES is preparing a training program for SUSD that
will be administered to vehicle maintenance staff, painters, and their supeirvisors. The regulations cited
only apply to those businesses that generate equal to or greater than 1,000 kilograms of
RCRA hazardous waste or more than 1 kilogram of RCRA acutely hazardous waste
during any calendar month. A review of SUSD waste generation totals from the last five
years (1999-2004) shows that they generate an average of 3.11 tons of RCRA hazardous
waste each year or approximately 520 pounds each month. During calendar year 2003,
the last required reporting year, SUSD generated only 0.6 tons of RCRA hazardous
waste.
1141 Sibley Street• Folsom, California 95630 • (916) 353-2360 • Fax (916) 353-2375
www.networkenvironmental.com • 1 (800) NES-ADVISE
