Network Environmental Systems, Inc.,
Item number 3: SB-14. NES would like to request an extension of fifteen working days
(to June 17, 2005)to properly prepare the required waste minimization plan for SUSD.
We are in the process of reviewing all manifests and specific waste streams generated by
SUSD to determine if their operations would be exempted. Because SUSD is a public,
not-for-profit organization they are not given the option to complete the more streamlined
and less time consuming SB-14 checklists that small business can. NES feels that that the
time extension will allow us to work more closely with the various departments of SUSD
that occupy the facility and include input and feedback from all level of worker, not just
managers. The additional time will allo-;v NES and SUSD to prepare a plan that better
serves the intended purpose of the SB-14 regulations by properly evaluating any and all
of the major waste streams generated.
NES and SUSD appreciate your time to review and consider this request. We ask that '
you respond to our requests, specifically to item number 3, the SB-14 plan and item
number 40, the Biennial report requirement.
If you have any questions or require any additional information please feel free to contact
me at(916) 353-2370 ext-27, or on my cell phone at(916) 439-3015.
Respect#ully,
Dan Cole
Senior Environmental Health &Safety Specialist
Cc: Butch Schmidt, SUSD
Don Rothenbaum,SVGS
