Failed to make a hazardous waste determination. The facility generates spill absorbent and brake
rotor metal shavings waste. Both wastes were stored on the site in containers not labeled as hazardous
waste. Spill absorbent was also observed all over the front parking lot. The brake rotor metal shavings
are hauled from the site as metal to be recycled.
Make a hazardous waste determination for the absorbent and metal shavings wastes as specified in Title
22 California Code of Regulations. Hazardous wastes in California are toxic, reactive, ignitable or
corrosive. Provide documentation that the absorbent and metal shavings wastes are nonhazardous or
handle as hazardous waste.
132. Failed to maintain the hazardous waste (used oil) tank daily inspection log. A blank form was on
site to do daily inspections but it was not filled out. Complete the used oil tank daily inspection log.
133. The hazardous waste (used oil) tank assessment document was not available for review on site.
Provide a copy of this document to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD). A
California professional engineer must sign and stamp this assessment.
ALL EHD STAFF TIME ASSOCIATED WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE.
THIS FACILITY IS SUBJECT TO REINSPECTION AT ANY TIME AT EHD'S CURRENT HOURLY RATE
