The inspection forms (Attached) must be completed as
their schedule indicates. The inspection form requires that designated store personnel indicate the date
of inspection, the name of inspector, and observation notes. If a discrepancy is noted at the time of the
inspection, the inspector must document corrective actions taken to resolve the issue. The daily and
weekly inspection forms must be kept at the facility for three years from date of inspection and they
must be readily available upon request by a regulator. Inspection forms must be kept in the store's
environmental file.
Inspection of Hazardous Waste Tanks
• Hazardous waste storage tanks [i.e., the used oil tank(s)] at the facility will be inspected daily. The
inspection includes a visual check of the tank and associated equipment (pumps, pipes, secondary
containment) for evidence of leaks, deterioration, or corrosion as well as the condition of secondary
containment and leak detection system. The information shall be recorded on the Hazardous Waste
Tank System Daily Inspection Log (attached).
Inspection of Containers & Drums
• Containers and drums holding hazardous waste must always be labeled and closed, except when
adding or removing waste.
