Metal fines are generated from the brake rotor smoothing operation. The facility does not have <br />disposal records for the metal fines waste. Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the <br />waste is a hazardous waste. Make a hazardous waste determination for the metal fines waste, and <br />manage it according the Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Particles 100 microns or smaller must be <br />handled as hazardous waste if the metal is determined to be a hazardous waste. Submit a statement <br />and supporting documentation explaining how this waste will be managed by April 29, 2011. <br />Notice to Comply <br />18. One 55 -gallon container of waste coolant has an accumulation start date of 9-8-09, a period of >90 <br />days. Facilities who generate greater than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per month may store waste on <br />site up to 90 days. Immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste <br />under manifest and submit a copy of the manifest to the EHD by April 29, 2011. <br />Notice of Violation - Class 2 <br />20. The following containers were observed at the facility: <br />a. 30 gallon container of waste brake fluid with no accumulation start date. <br />b. 55 gallon container of waste absorbent with no accumulation start date. <br />All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: <br />1. the words "Hazardous Waste" <br />2. name and address of generator <br />3. hazardous properties <br />4. physical state <br />5. composition (contents) <br />6. accumulation start date <br />Immediately label these containers and ensure that all containers are marked with all the required <br />information.
