(continued) <br /> hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: <br /> 1. the words "Hazardous Waste" <br /> 2. name and address of generator <br /> 3. hazardous properties (flammable, corrosive, reactive, toxic) <br /> 4. physical state (liquid, solid) <br /> 5. composition (contents) <br /> 6. accumulation start date <br /> Immediately label these containers, or place the wastes in properly labeled containers, and ensure that <br /> all hazardous waste containers are marked with all the required information. <br /> REPEAT VIOLATION <br /> 901. The facility is crushing aerosol cans and collecting the liquids, but is not taking any measures to <br /> collect the propellant that is inside the can. A universal waste handler shall manage universal waste <br /> aerosol cans in a manner that prevents fire, explosion, and the unauthorized release of any universal <br /> waste or component of a universal waste to the environment. Immediately stop crushing aerosol cans, <br /> and manage aerosol cans in accordance with Title 22 regulations. <br /> Minor violations: (910, 912) <br /> 910. This facility is crushing aerosol cans in the oil filter crusher. No written procedures were available <br /> on site for this activity. A universal waste handler may process a universal waste aerosol can to remove <br /> and collect the contents if the handler ensures that the processing operations are performed safely.by <br /> developing and implementing a written operating procedure detailing the safe processing of universal <br /> waste aerosol cans. This procedure shall, at a minimum, include the following: <br /> 1. type of equipment to be used <br /> 2. operation and maintenance of the unit <br /> 3. segregation of incompatible wastes <br /> 4. proper waste management practices, including ensuring that flammable wastes are stored away <br /> from heat and open flames <br /> 5. waste characterization <br /> Immediately stop the crushing of universal waste aerosol cans, or develop written procedures for this <br /> process and submit a copy of these procedures to the EHD by December 18, 2013. <br /> ALL EHD STAFF TIME ASSOCIATED WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE. <br /> THIS FACILITY IS SUBJECT TO REINSPECTION AT ANY TIME AT EHD'S CURRENT HOURLY RATE. <br /> EHD Inspector: Received By: Title: <br /> Stacy Rivera (209) 468-3440 <br /> EHD 23-02-003 Rev 04/19/12 CONTINUATION FORM <br />
