Various parts and buckets were observed being stored in front of the emergency shower and <br /> eyewash, blocking access to this equipment. All facility communications and alarm systems, fire <br /> protection equipment, spill control equipment, and decontamination equipment, shall be tested and <br /> maintained as necessary to assure its proper operation in time of emergency. Immediately clear the <br /> area in front of and around the emergency equipment to allow for unrestricted access, and maintain all <br /> emergency equipment as needed. <br /> 305. The spill containment outside the shop in the truck wash area was observed with standing liquid in <br /> the bottom. All facility communications and alarm systems, fire protection equipment, spill control <br /> equipment, and decontamination equipment, shall be tested and maintained as necessary to assure its <br /> proper operation in time of emergency. Spill containment shall be maintained clean and dry at all times <br /> so as to detect a leak at the earliest opportunity. Immediately remove and properly dispose of all <br /> hazardous waste from spill containment, and maintain all spill containment clean and dry at all times. <br /> REPEAT VIOLATION <br /> 404. A 55 gallon blue plastic drum of used antifreeze was observed outside the shop without a bung. <br /> A 55 gallon drum of product oil was observed in the shop with a yellow liquid accumulated on the top of <br /> the drum; according to Mr. Garth Williams, this was due to spillage and drippage from a fitting and would <br /> not be reused. All hazardous waste containers shall be closed at all times except when adding or <br /> removing waste. Immediately close these containers and/or place these wastes in properly closed <br /> containers, and ensure all hazardous waste containers are closed when not adding or removing waste. <br /> REPEAT VIOLATION <br /> 601. A 55 gallon blue plastic drum of used antifreeze was observed outside the shop with an <br /> accumulation start date of May 30, 2012. Facilities who generate 1000 kg or more of hazardous waste <br /> per month and or exceed 6000 kg of waste stored on site at any time may not store waste on site for <br /> longer than 90 days. Immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste <br /> under manifest and submit a copy of the manifest to the EHD by December 18, 2013. <br /> REPEAT VIOLATION <br /> 605. A 55 gallon black steel drum of spent absorbent and a 55 gallon blue steel drum of spent <br /> absorbent were observed outside the shop with no hazardous properties marked. Two 220 gallon totes <br /> of used oil were observed in the truck wash area with no hazardous property. A 55 gallon drum of <br /> product oil was observed in the shop with a yellow liquid accumulated on the top of the drum; according <br /> to Mr. Garth Williams, this was due to spillage and drippage from a fitting and would not be reused. All <br /> ALL EHD STAFF TIME ASSOCIATED WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE. <br /> THIS FACILITY IS SUBJECT TO REINSPECTION AT ANY TIME AT EHD'S CURRENT HOURLY RATE. <br /> EHD Inspector.
