• Page 6 September 18,2012 <br /> An oily red rag was discovered. It was transferred to the dirty rag accumulation container for <br /> laundering. Proper disposal was discussed with personnel. <br /> An oily contaminated rubber engine hose was discovered. It was cleaned of any oil <br /> accumulation and disposed as trash. Proper disposal of oil or contaminated trash was discussed with <br /> personnel. <br /> Universal wastes and proper disposal of common waste items were discussed in the group training, <br /> Attendance is documented in Addendum 4. Noting the subject is very broad, specific items will be <br /> discussed in regular safety/environmental compliance meetings utilizing California Department of Toxic <br /> Substances Control pamphlets and interactive computer programs such as: <br /> http://www.dtsc.ca.gov/Hazardous Waste/Automotive/index.cfn. <br /> 115 Train New Employees <br /> 117 Incomplete Training Records <br /> Personnel were gathered on two occasions for Hazardous Communication Training and Waste <br /> Management Familiarization Training. Dan Barber, Registered Engineer, Registered Environmental <br /> Assessor, Hazwopper 40 hr& Supervisor's Course, Past MSHA Instructor. <br /> Course discussed subject areas and responses with employees. Subjects discussed included: <br /> Duration 1-2 hrs.,Verbal Testing. <br /> Why Hazcom is important Self, Family, Co-workers, Neighbors <br /> Business Emergency response Plan, Chemical Inventory,Assembly Point <br /> Reporting Incidents,When to use chain of command <br /> Exposure-Chemicals, Site Traffic <br /> Customers and Kids-Stay Out of Work Areas <br /> MSDS-Availability, Sections, NFPA 4 Elements, 1 to 4 Severity <br /> Fire Extinguisher Usage <br /> Dangers of HF Chrome Bright Cleaner, Gasoline, Solvents <br /> Used Oil, Filters, Batteries <br /> Personal Protective Equipment- Hearing, Contact, Respiratory,Visual-Ask for PPE&Use It, <br /> Eye and Deluge Shower Current&Near Future <br /> Hazard Sensitivity Familiarity leads to Situational Blindness <br /> Hazardous Waste&Universal Waste Management -Hg,Aerosol Cans," Empty"Containers <br /> Inspections <br /> Record Keeping <br />
