Site Security: 66265.14
The yard area and access to the waste oil AST are contained by a gated fence during
non-working hours. Motion actuated exterior lighting reduce attractiveness of theft or
vandalism.
Secondary Containment Findings: The secondary containment system is of sufficient
capacity and condition for the containment of releases from all tanks and ancillary waste oil
equipment.
Initials:
Emergency vent reliefs for the primary and secondary compartments of the subject AST are not
installed. Current design standards support relief venting, particularly for fuel storage.
Previously installed ASTs, storing Waste Motor Oil, are not typically required to retrofit relief
venting. Manufacturer label on this tank (originally designed for fuel or oil storage) requires
94,800 CFH relief venting. However, the subject waste oil tank is not exposed to a potential pool
fire, boiling temperature is high and risk of expansive vapors is very minimal. There is a 4 IN
threaded connection on each compartment which could accommodate a Morrison 244 Series
emergency vent if demanded by local authorities.
There is no overfill alarm on the tank. Tank is supplied by manually supervised transfer of
waste oil from containers. AST has a highly visible "Scully Uni-gauge" reflecting contents and
has been signed with instructions to not fill above a maximum value. In the remote event of
overfilling, limited spilled oil would be captured by the depressed foundation and curb.
Imperial Truck Wash and Repair Waste Oil AST pg.4 of 4
