Managing Hazardous Waste <br />Overview Once an item is determined to be hazardous waste, it needs to be properly <br />contained and managed until the next StrongPak pick-up. In the next few <br />sections, we will discuss the steps to take when handling hazardous waste. <br />Bagging All items that are considered hazardous waste must be bagged using <br />Hazardous StrongPak self-sealing bags. Only one item must be placed in a bag. If there <br />Waste is more than one of the same Front Store item, each item must still be <br />bagged separately. <br />Any large universal waste items that cannot fit inside the StrongPak <br />container should be placed in the hazardous waste collection area and <br />marked for pick-up by StrongPak. Place a UW label directly on the outside of <br />the waste item ensuring the required information is completed on the label. <br />Handling Non- All non -leaking hazardous waste items must be placed in a StrongPak self - <br />Leaking sealing bag; only one item per bag. Seal the bag completely, and place in <br />Hazardous the StrongPak container labeled with the appropriate category of waste (AF, <br />Waste TX, CA, CB, OX, or UW). <br />Handling All leaking hazardous waste items should be placed in a StrongPak self - <br />Leaking sealing bag using the additional precautions below.
