Managing Hazardous Waste, Continued <br />Spill Clean -Up In order to be prepared for a hazardous waste spill clean-up, each store must <br />Supplies have spill supplies readily available. The Store Manager must ensure, at a <br />minimum, the materials listed below are available. If due to the nature of <br />your location you are having difficulty, you may order a spill kit from <br />StrongPak by calling 877-542-5923. Order the item numbers listed below <br />from the Store Order Guide in order to complete your spill supplies. <br />Spill supplies required are: <br />• Vinyl or nitrile gloves (items 346195, 346144, 346143, 346145) <br />• Vinyl apron (item 346180) <br />• Safety goggles (item 488146) <br />• Absorbent materials (i.e., clay cat litter) <br />• Broom <br />• Non -sparking dust pan (i.e., plastic) <br />• Paper towels <br />In the unlikely event that Sylvania is unable to make a service call in a timely <br />manner, Sylvania may ship new light bulbs to the store. Should this occur, <br />follow the steps on the next page to manage the used light bulbs until <br />Sylvania is able to pick up the used bulbs. <br />NOTE: Used light bulbs may only stay at the store for up to 1 year. If <br />Sylvania is unable to pick up the used bulbs within 1 year, the used light <br />bulbs may also be picked up by StrongPak during their next service visit. <br />Continued on next page <br />© CVS/pharmacy 25 <br />aCONFIDENTIAL BUSINESS INFORMATION <br />CVS000010386 <br />Spill supplies must be kept at least in the backroom and must be inspected <br />during the weekly hazardous waste inspections to ensure supplies are <br />available. Spill supplies must be replenished as needed. <br />Fluorescent <br />Fluorescent light bulbs (lamps) cannot be disposed of in the trash. Sylvania <br />Light Bulb <br />manages used light bulbs for our stores. When Sylvania arrives at the store, <br />(Lamp) <br />they are required to replace used light bulbs with new ones and remove the <br />Management <br />used ones from the store at the time of service. If a bulb is broken during <br />Sylvania's service at the store, Sylvania is required to properly manage and <br />dispose of broken bulb(s) as well. <br />In the unlikely event that Sylvania is unable to make a service call in a timely <br />manner, Sylvania may ship new light bulbs to the store.
