The StrongPak Program <br />Overview StrongPak is a licensed hazardous waste management company that is <br />managed by CVS Caremark's Environmental, Health and Safety Department. <br />StrongPak assists with the proper transport and disposal of photo hazardous <br />mop& waste collected in StrongPak containers (boxes or plastic totes). StrongPak <br />does not currently manage any drummed waste for CVS/pharmacy retail <br />stores. <br />All photo waste must be managed through the StrongPak program, with the <br />exception of spent metallic replacement cartridges, one-time use camera <br />bodies and the two waste streams managed by PSC (discussed in the next <br />section). <br />Managing <br />The Store Manager must designate a Photo Hazardous Waste Collection <br />Hazardous <br />Area where the StrongPak "PHOTO" container and other applicable <br />Waste <br />StrongPak materials can be stored, preferably in the Photo lab. If there are <br />Containers <br />space or appearance limitations, the StrongPak "PHOTO" container may be <br />stored in the backroom with the StrongPak "STORE" container. <br />PHOTO <br />Hazardous Waste <br />All StrongPak "PHOTO" containers must be kept closed, except when adding <br />waste. The container must be properly labeled with the date, store # and <br />- - <br />address. The date must be filled in when attaching the label to the collection <br />CONTENTS, <br />container. All information must be filled in properly before the container can <br />All --c- <br />be used to store hazardous waste. <br />Ecpr W vi uAl4 pllab cMmi W <br />cmcmYM <br />The containers must be stored in such a way that the label is visible and the <br />container can be easily inspected for leaks or damage. The containers must <br />also be accessible in an emergency. <br />Hazardous StrongPak pick-ups will occur on a periodic basis. These pick-ups are <br />Waste Pickup prescheduled through CVS Caremark's Environmental, Health and Safety <br />Department. Upon arrival, the properly identified StrongPak technician will <br />contact the Manager -on -Duty to pick up Front Store, Pharmacy and Photo <br />hazardous waste. You must ensure ALL full or partially full StrongPak <br />"PHOTO" containers are given to the StrongPak technician. <br />Additional There should be one designated colleague per store to order StrongPak <br />Supplies supplies to ensure a proper inventory.
