Air Monitoring Requirements
Air monitoring type and frequencies performed during the individual tasks are described
below:
(1)
Tank and Pipe Emptying:
Direct reading using PID, (10.2 eV lamp span), within the exclusion zone boundaries and
in the breathing zones of workers for a minimum of 10 minutes every 15 minutes.
(2)
Tank and Pipe Emptying:
Direct reading using PID (10.2 eV lamp span), within the exclusion zone boundaries and
in the breathing zone of workers for a minimum of 10 minutes every 15 minutes.
(3)
Tank Purging:
Direct reading with combustible gas indicator (CGI) in combination with 02 within the
exclusion zone and at the tank's opening, continuously during the activity.
(4)
Soil Excavation and Excavation of Contaminated Material:
Direct reading with PID (10.2 eV lamp span) within the exclusion zone boundaries and in
the breathing zone of workers for a minimum of 10 minutes every 25 minutes.
(5)
Open Pit Soil and Water Sampling:
Direct reading with PID (10.2 eV lamp span) within the breathing zone of workers
continuously.
Site Closure Finishing:
(6)
and
Direct reading with PID (10.2 eV lamp span) within the boundaries of the exclusion zone
and in the breathing zone of workers for a minimum of 10 minutes every 30 minutes.
Air monitoring results and the professional judgment of the on-site health and safety
coordinator (OSHSC) will determine the actual level of personal protection during each
'
task performed under this CTO. The monitoring procedures are given on Page 12.
A-7
