1 <br />1 Medical Surveillance Requirements <br />All medical surveillance will be performed in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.120(f). <br />Work Limitations (time of day, weather, etc.): <br />No limitations. <br />ISite -Specific Decontamination and Disposal Procedures <br />Specific decontamination procedures are based on the personal level of protection. When <br />a decontamination system is set up, one person has the responsibility for operating the <br />decontamination station. This person will make sure that all workers decontaminate properly, <br />ensure the disposable items are bagged, and assist on-site workers in changing cartridges, masks, <br />gloves or other pieces of safety equipment and monitor the length of work periods. When using <br />Level D protection, a personal decontamination system (PDS) is not set up. However, because <br />project personnel wearing Level D protection may need to upgrade to Level C as or if site <br />conditions change, a PDS may be set up depending upon specific characteristics. <br />Decontamination procedures are detailed in the Tank Closure Plan and should be followed <br />completely. <br />Emergency Procedures <br />General First Aid Procedures Are Described Below: <br />Dermal Exposure - Wash with soap immediately and rinse with copious amounts of clean water. <br />Watch for signs of skin irritation. Seek medical attention at first signs of irritation. <br />rInhalation - Move victim to fresh air. Give artificial respiration if necessary, unless otherwise <br />indicated on attachments. Observe victim for signs of shock. Seek medical attention <br />immediately. <br />Ingestion - CALL POISON CONTROL CENTER. Seek immediate medical attention. If <br />possible, a sample of ingested material will be collected and transported to hospital with victim. <br />Detailed First Aid Procedures Are Given on the Hazardous Chemical Evaluation Sheets. <br />A-17 <br />11 <br />
