m' 4 <br />Thirty pounds of dry ice per 1,000 gallons of tank volume will be used to purge the tank of <br />vapors. This change will be reflected in the Tank Closure Plan. <br />12) A check for $159.00 must be submitted which covers the first three hours. Any <br />additional time will be billed at $53.00 per hour for plan review and removal inspections. <br />PRC will submit a check for $159.00 with the resubmittals. PRC understands that additional time <br />will be billed at $53.00 per hour. <br />T ollowing are response to comments provided by Laurie �Cola (undated). <br />1)Sec ' n 2.4.3, page 13, paragraph 1: "At the conclu cavation, a minimum of <br />two soi mples will be taken from the excavatio side walls and bottom,..." <br />We recommend at soil samples will be obt ed from all four side walls of the <br />excavation includin sampling the bottom ' the excavation; at (east 5 samples depending <br />upon the finished dim cions of the to excavation. <br />As written, the Tank Closure Plan a ws X the collection of six soil samples from the <br />excavation pit as determined by field c itions. As it is likely that the tank is partially <br />submerged in water, soil samples will n0e'4qo be collected from the four side walls at the ground- <br />water interface. If necessary, additio al soil mples may be collected from the excavation pit if <br />ground water is not present. <br />2) We recommend the sate ion of the appropri a landfill be made prior to the <br />removal/overexcavatio and sampling activities. The early selection of the soil repository <br />will enable sampling ctivities and related laborat y analyses to coordinate efficiently. <br />Many landfills req re hazardous waste criteria test, in addition to the standard <br />petroleum hydroc rbon analyses. <br />Once the land ill has been selected, please provide us with he name, address, city and <br />contact perso for the landfill. <br />Contaminated soi generated during the tank removal may be disposed t ough: <br />.S.
