Land and Water Resources
All land resources within the project boundaries will be preserved in their present
condition or restored to a condition after completion of the project that will appear to be natural
and not detract from the appearance of the site. Prior to beginning the work, Geofon will
identify any land resources to be protected in the vicinity of the work area. This include, but is
not limited to, the marking of utility lines, vegetation of environmental concern, land formations,
nesting, hunting or otherwise inhabited areas of protected species. There are no wetlands at the
work area of the project site that needs protective measures.
Marking methods will include flagging, fencing or other delineation in such a manner as
to be identified as a protected source. There is no expectation that it will be necessary to clear
and grub significant areas. All vehicle traffic will be limited to the construction area and
established roads.
Onsite Chemical Storae
Fuels, oils, antifreeze and any other chemicals with the potential to degrade surface and
groundwater will be stored and disposed of in a method that is approved by the EPA and the
State of California. Water that is used in the decontamination procedures will be disposed in
accordance with EPA and the State of California regulatory requirements.
Work Areas
Only authorized personnel will be allowed in the restricted area (contamination reduction
zone and the exclusion zone). Personal vehicles will not be allowed in the restricted area. Only
equipment required for the project will be allowed into the exclusion zone and will not be
removed until that specific piece of equipment is no longer needed. Equipment and vehicles will
be decontaminated prior to removal from the exclusion zone.
34
