Warning labels on containers are used to provide information regarding the physical and <br />health hazards of chemicals. Label intent is to provide an immediate warning and summarize the <br />information contained on the Material Safety Data Sheet. <br />Containers include any bag, barrel, box, can, cylinder, drum, reaction vessel, storage <br />tank, or the like which contains a chemical. Pipes and piping systems are not included. <br />4.32 EMPLOYEE INFORMATION AND TRAINING <br />Employees who may be exposed to hazardous chemicals in the course of their routine <br />work assignments or in a foreseeable emergency, will be provided with information and training <br />regarding these potential hazards. <br />Employees will be informed of: <br />• The requirements of the OSHA hazard communication standard. <br />• Operation within their specific work area where hazardous chemical are present. <br />• The location and availability of hazard communication materials, including the <br />written hazard communication program, the site chemical list, and the MSDSs. <br />Employee training will include at the least the following: <br />• Methods of observations that may be used to detect the presence or release of a <br />hazardous chemical. <br />• The physical and health hazards associated with chemicals or classes of chemicals in <br />their work area. <br />• Actions necessary for employees to protect themselves from these hazards, including <br />the use of personal protective equipment, specified work practices and procedures, <br />and emergency procedures. <br />• The details of the hazard communication program, including an explanation of the in - <br />plant labeling system, MSDSs, and how the employee can obtain and use the hazard <br />information. <br />The initial training for employees covers: <br />41 <br />
