C A M B R I A
Dispensers: TPHg was detected in samples D-2 and D-3, collected beneath the dispenser
islands, at concentrations of 9.8 and 6,700 ppm, respectively. Benzene was detected at a
concentration of 0.0065 ppm in soil sample D-2; no benzene was detected in any other soil
sample collected beneath the dispenser islands. MTBE and TBA were detected at concentrations
up to 0.26 and 0.27 ppm, respectively, in soil samples collected beneath the dispenser islands; no
other fuel oxygenates were detected.
Waste Oil Tank: The soil sample collected beneath the waste oil tank, T-3, contained 2,800 ppm
TPHg, 900 ppm TPHd and 2.4 ppm benzene. No fuel oxygenates were detected in sample T-3.
Hoists: Soil samples H-1 and H-2, collected beneath the hoists, contained no benzene and up to
39 ppm TPHd.
Water Analytical
Water analytical results from the tank pit are summarized in Table 2 and TPHg, benzene,MTBE,
and TBA data are presented on Figure 2. The certified analytical report is included as
Appendix A. A summary of the data is presented below.
Samples TP-1-AQ and TP-2-AQ, collected from the fuel UST excavation, contained TPHg and
benzene at concentrations up to 20,000 and 67 parts per billion(ppb), respectively. Samples
TP-1-AQ and TP-2-AQ also contained MTBE and TBA at concentrations up to 57 and
15,000 ppb, respectively. No other fuel oxygenates were detected in groundwater samples
TP-1-AQ and TP-2-AQ.
CONCLUSIONS
Gasoline constituents were detected in soil samples collected beneath the fuel USTs, dispensers,
piping, ant the waste oil tank. Gasoline constituents were also detected in the water samples
collected from the fuel UST excavation.
The site is currently a LUFT case with a regular groundwater monitoring program in place, and a
groundwater extraction and treatment system is currently in operation at the site.
0783 4
