Garrett Backus [EH]
From: Boyd, Stephen <Stephen.Boyd@7-11.com>
Sent: Thursday, August 22, 2013 11:17 AM
To: Garrett Backus [EH]
Subject: RE: 7 -Eleven project at 3202 W Hammer Lane Stockton
Thanks for the heads up. I will make sure the construction manager knows as well.
Thanks,
Stephen K. Boyd
Regional Manager, Gasoline Compliance
Phone # (714) 771-5484
From: Garrett Backus [EH] [mailto:abackus sjcehd.com]
Sent: Thursday, August 22, 2013 11:04 AM
To: Boyd, Stephen
Subject: 7 -Eleven project at 3202 W Hammer Lane Stockton
Stephen,
I visited the site today and met with James Black of LC Services. I observed the new fill sump install (bottom half) and
noticed that the vapor recovery line passes by one of the fill sumps closer than the four inch setback specified in the Red
Thread IIA piping install instructions (page 4, see attached document). The piping is probably one quarter to one half
inch set back from the fill sump. Although the vapor recovery line is regulated by the air quality district and not the
CLIPA, I recommend that the piping be rerouted with the proper four inch minimum setback.
I did call James Black of LC services after leaving the site and reviewing the Red Thread instructions. He said they will
replumb the line. I requested that he call me for an inspection when they pressure test the line.
Thank you,
Garrett Backus
Senior Registered Environmental Health Specialist
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
1868 E Hazelton Ave, Stockton, CA 95205
Phone: (209) 468-2986
Fax: (209) 468-3433
Email: gbackus@sicehd.com
