The CP1502 incorporated the
Listed PP1502 primary pipe and a
polyethylene, thick jacket . The following tests were
considered necessary.
No testing was considered necessary on the PP1502 . Tests
were completed previously under a separate project, 94NK23919,
File MH16395 , Test Record No. 1 .
The Union Carbide jacket was tested previously under
File MH19589, Report dated December 9, 1996, Test Record No. 1 .
The results relate to the items tested.
LEAKAGE- TEST:
METHOD
The interstitial space of the CP1502 were subjected to a
aerostatic pressure of 10 psig for 5 min. The samples were
observed for evidence of leakage and damage.
RESULTS
There was no evidence of leakage or damage.
. RESISTANCE TO CRUSHING TEST:
METHOD
Representative samples of the CP1502 were placed between two
parallel plates measuring 6 by 6 in. The pipe was then flattened
until the distance between the plates was 40 percent of the
original outside diameter of the pipe. The pipe was then
examined for splitting, cracking, or other damage .
RESULTS
There was no evidence of splitting, cracking, breaking or
other damage .
LMD/TAS :nsc
NKDLS
