File MH19589 Page T1-2 of 2 Issued: 1-30-97
LOW TEMPERATURE BENDING TEST:
METHOD
Representative samples of the CP1502 were conditioned in a
freezer maintained at a temperature of 0°C for at least 24 h.
Immediately upon removal from the freezer, the samples were then
wrapped around a mandrel having a diameter of ten times the
internal pipe diameter. The samples were then allowed to return
to room temperature and the interstital space was subjected to a
aerostatic pressure of 10 psig for a period of 5 min.
RESULTS
There was no evidence of leakage or damage to the pipe.
BENDING TEST:
METHOD
Representative samples of the CP1502 were successively bent
to an arc having a radium of 60, 50, 40 and 30 percent of the
manufacturer' s minimum recommending bending radius (24 in. ) .
Each bending shall be repeated 50 times . Following the bending
cycles, the interstitial space of each sample was subjected to
aerostatic pressure of twice the rated pressure for a period of
S min. and examined for evidence of leakage .
RESULTS
There was no evidence of leakage or damage to the pipe .
LMD/TAS :nsc
NKDLS
