The National Fire Code for Automotive and Marine Service Stations (NFPA-30A) requires that low melt point piping and hardware located in dispenser containment be protected from excessive heat. Beaudreau manufactures aline of Class B fire extinguishers designed to satisfy the NFPA-30A standard. The CSFX fire extin- guisher is designed to automatically extinguish a typical gasoline or fuel fire in the containment sump or pan under a dispenser equipped with emergency shut-off valves. The fire extinguisher will activate and discharge its contents when the surrounding temperature reaches 155°F (68°C). The CSFX fire extinguishing agents include TECO -FOAM * Extreme, an extreme temperature UL -listed AFFF concentrate, and nitrogen. After the extinguishing agents extinguish the fire, the CO -FOAM" then forms a blanket in the bot- tom of the sump to help prevent the spilled gaso- line from re -igniting. W111: 1 01-U PM SYSTEM OPERATION The CSFX fire extinguishers should be mounted onto the Unistrut channel typically located at the top of the dispenser sump or pan. The fire extinguisher cylinder should be mounted so that the actuator is pointing down into the dispenser sump. when the surrounding temperature reaches 155T the glass fuse bursts, releasing the extinguishing agents from the cylinder directly into the dispenser sump or pan. The fire extinguisher must be replaced after discharge. The CSFX should be inspected periodically (at least annually) to make sure the pres- sure gauge indicator arrow is located within the green band on the gauge.
