THE XLD...EXTEN9&D PERFORMANCE LOE IN <br />MECHANICAL LEAK DETECTION* <br />As early as 1959, Red Jacketdeveloped and marketed <br />a mechanical leak detector as a solution to the problem <br />of leakage in the pressurized piping between the petro- <br />leum product storage tanks and the dispensers. In 1976, <br />responding to industry demand, the "2 second" Dia- <br />phragm leak detector (DLD) was introduced. This leak <br />detector was the first to complete a line test in approxi- <br />mately two seconds. <br />Years of research and field experience have enabled <br />Red Jacket to further enhance the reliability of this <br />product. <br />The XLD, Extended Life Diaphragm Leak Detector, is <br />constructed in design and materials to appreciably ex- <br />tend the time that it maintains the required leak detecting <br />capability. All elastomers in the XLD are now compatible <br />with 100% gasoline, 100% methanol, 100% ethanol or <br />any combination of these, 100% diesel and MTBE con- <br />tent up to 15%. Wear surfaces on the metering pin and <br />poppet are now plated. <br />The XLD can be easily mounted in the current leak <br />detector opening on the Red Jacket 4" submersible <br />pump. The XLD can also be adapted for use on older or <br />competitive model pumps with the use of the Red Jacket <br />leak detector housing. <br />Continuing to advance technology in mechanical line <br />leak detection, <br />Red Jacket introduces the XLD. <br />RED JACKET CONTINUES ADVANCING MECHANICAL LINE <br />LEAK DETECTION TECHNOLOGY <br />DESIGNED TO HANDLE <br />100% GASOLINE <br />100% METHANOL <br />100% ETHANOL <br />ANY COMBINATION OF ABOVE <br />100•/ DIESEL <br />UP TO 15% MTBE <br />• Restricted flow rate of approximately 3GPM down <br />stream of the leak detector provides an easily <br />distinguishable signal that complies with EPA <br />requirements.
