The TPH-G concentration is also the
highest recorded for this monitoring well at 67,000 ug/l. Groundwater from MW-2
recorded "non-detect" concentrations of MTBE and TPH-G on September 5, 1996.
Since that time the groundwater sample results from this monitoring well has shown
increasing contamination and PHS-EHD considers this to be a new release and has filed
an "Unauthorized Release Report".
You are hereby directed to take immediate steps to investigate, abate, and report
to PHS-EHD the conditions and details of this new release investigation.
Continuing to use (store, pump, fill,) the underground storage tank (UST) system without
identifying, repairing/replacing the leaking parts, and abating the release, may be
considered negligent and in violation of California Health & Safety Code (Chapter 6.7,
Sections 25292.1 and 25295).
Please contact Doug Wilson, Supervising RENS, immediately at (209) 468-3446 to
schedule an inspection of the UST system.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Divisio
Michael J.
