From the fitting, a <br />passage leads to the bottom of the tank. The fitting and the passage allow the <br />placement of probe(s) to detect the presence of liquid in the interstitial space. <br />Fiberglass Flanged Manways <br />Manways provide both access to the interior of the tank and a location for service <br />fittings. The standard manway I. D. is 22". Manways with 30" and 36" I.D.'s are avail- <br />able on certain larger tanks. Each manway is provided with a steel cover, a UL <br />listed gasket and plated nuts, bolts and washers. Sizes available <br />are 2", 4" and 6" NPT. <br />F E] <br />Fiberglass Manway Riser <br />A manway riser provides access to the <br />manway from grade and prevents backfill <br />material from covering the manway or <br />equipment mounted on manway. Two <br />risers may be used on tanks greater than <br />4,000 gallons capacity. Only one riser <br />may be used on smaller tanks. <br />6" Min. <br />AFRP Holddown Straps <br />[FIFRP Manway Extensions <br />Manway extensions provide a sealed <br />extension of the manway which allows <br />the manway cover to be raised above the <br />top of the tank. The standard extension <br />length is 24". <br />Straps are used when a tank requires anchoring. The straps provide the link <br />between the tank and the owner supplied anchoring hardware.
