L' <br />Ll <br />The Disaster Coordinator, in cooperation with the Medical <br />Director, Nursing Supervisor on duty, or the Emergency <br />Department Attending, will determine if the external disaster <br />plan is to be initiated. 'If no member of Administration is <br />available, the ranking Nursing Office Supervisor on duty in <br />cooperation with the Attending on duty in the Emergency <br />Department may act in this capacity. <br />A. Notification of On -Duty Personnel <br />Upon authorization from the Disaster Coordinator or <br />Senior Administrator, the Switchboard will announce over <br />the PA system, "Your attention please. Triage Code 2 is <br />now in progress." All Hospital personnel will then <br />implement Triage Code 2 procedures as appropriate for <br />their department. <br />-B. Notification of Off -Duty Personnel and Physicians <br />Upon direction of the Disaster Coordinator or the <br />Director, Health Care Services, or his designee, the <br />Switchboard Operator will initiate Hospital call-back <br />procedures. (Specific call-back instructions and lists <br />are located in a separate section of this plan.) <br />Call-back procedures for individual Hospital departments <br />should be initiated at the discretion of the department <br />manager depending upon the size and nature of the <br />disaster. Hospital employees reporting to the Hospital <br />must be wearing their photo identification badge. The ID <br />badge will facilitate access into the Hospital if police <br />lines must be passed. If security guards have been <br />posted at the Hospital entrances, employees without photo <br />ID badges will not be allowed to enter. <br />0 <br />
